Our favorite automaker is all about enhancing the way we drive and, with two new patents they've filed about safety technologies, it's only going to get better! Both of these technologies rely on the use of heads-up displays (HUDs) that would allow you to see more than just what you can see looking out your vehicle's windows.
The first patent is for pedestrian safety and, using an augmented reality HUD, it would allow you to see pedestrians all around you and even in your blind spots. This gives you the ability to be ready to brake for any pedestrian that may step out into the road, before your vehicle would need to react for you. The second patent is for vehicle-to-vehicle communication. For example, if you're in a line of three cars - you being the third - this tech would allow you to see the speed of the car in front of you as well as the car in front of that one; this allows you to be more prepared for it a sudden brake occurs.
Of course, all of this is still experimental and we're not sure when it will be implemented in new Honda vehicles. To learn more, stay tuned to our blog and we'll update you as details arise.
